The World Economic Forum has selected Resverlogix as a winner of the very prestigious Technology Pioneer Award in recognition of its NexVas™ Plaque Removal program. Candidates for this award must be involved in the development of life-changing technologies and have potential for long-term impact on business and society.

Resverlogix was selected because of its development of exceptionally promising new molecules that increase the production of ApoA-l and high density lipoprotein (HDL) for the treatment of atherosclerosis.

The Technology Pioneers 2008 were nominated by the world’s leading venture capital and technology companies. The final selection from 273 nominees was made by a panel of leading technology experts appointed by the World Economic Forum. Previous Technology Pioneers have included Business Objects, Gilead Sciences, Corel Corporation, Encore Software, Google, Mozilla Corporation and Napster.

“I would like to offer Canada’s sincere congratulations to Resverlogix for winning this international award from the World Economic Forum,” said the Honourable Minister Jim Prentice, Minister of Industry. “Resverlogix is doing some incredible work in advancing the treatment of atherosclerosis, the major underlying cause of cardiovascular disease and this award is a testament to Canada’s world-class biopharmaceutical industry.“

The Excellence in Technology of the Year Award by Frost & Sullivan award is bestowed upon the company that has pioneered the development and introduction of an innovative technology into the market; a technology that has either impacted or has the potential to impact several market sectors. This award recognizes a company’s successful technology development that is expected to bring significant contributions to the industry in terms of adoption, change, and competitive posture. It also recognizes the overall technical excellence of a company and its commitment towards technology innovation.  Resverlogix was awarded the 2007 North American Excellence in Technology of the Year Award by Frost & Sullivan for their novel therapy for cardiovascular diseases.
Telly Bronze Award

The Telly Awards honor outstanding local, regional, and cable television commercials and programs, as well as the finest video and film productions. The 27th Annual Telly Awards received over 12,000 entries from all 50 states and 5 continents.  The NexVas™ animation was co-developed by Resverlogix and InViVo Communications Inc., a leading Canadian healthcare new media company. The complete animation is available for viewing and can be accessed at NexVas Animation. The main purpose of the animation is to educate all key stakeholders in cardiovascular disease management about the importance of ApoA-I and its role in reducing the main underlying cause of cardiovascular disease, which is atherosclerosis.  Resverlogix has also been recognized for its contribution to Calgary Urban Project Society ‘CUPS’, a local health centre.  The services that they offer include health care, education and social services, helping people make the transition from poverty to stability.
